Jonah and His New Hair

Hey Mr. Hairy.

What do you have?

I don’t like that thing.

I think I might lose it.

That’s it!

He does not like having his hair cut.

Freak out time.

Let’s try a little tutorial.

I’m going to touch it on your leg.

Look, it doesn’t hurt.  It just makes noise.

But he won’t be reasoned with.

I’m only smiling because it’s funny.

With a little bit of bribery he pulled himself together.

But we still caught glimpses of the obligatory pouting lip.

But it was all worth it.  Look how handsome he is!!

Oh, and he knows it!!

It’s not perfect.

But it was free.

Hey Good Lookin’!!

Oh, be still my heart. :) He is such a cutie. Clearly takes after his mother. ;)

Aaron cried at getting his hair cut until he was 5!

He is such a cutie! :) I buzzed both my boys hair last night… Abram cried pretty bad, I tried everything you did too!!! I touched it to his leg, I showed him it doesn’t hurt, but still he cried.. ha ha and I laughed too. haha
Eli used to cry too… thankfully now he doesn’t he is 5 though! ;)
    Have a great day!
    Love,
    Chas

Adorable! That pic of you smiling and him crying is too funny! That’s exactly the kind of thing I do! I can’t help but laugh when they lose it in such a big way over such a small thing. I do my best to put on a sympathetic face, but it soon cracks into a smile and then an all-out laugh. Kids are so entertaining!

I cut all my boys hair and my hubby’s too. Actually I just shave them down - it’s easier that way and they don’t fuss about their hair the way some boys do. My 13 year old was about 4 or 5 when he really needed a haircut, but for some reason decided to be scared of the clippers. Every single window in the house was open and here he was screaming hysterically at the top of his lungs, “Mom’s trying to kill me!” LOL I was just sure someone was going to call the authorities on us.

Great pics! I cute my boys’ hair too and Malakai (now 3) still cries if I get out the clippers. He completely freaked out at his first haircut too and I was in the background smiling, just as you were :) Hopefully he will grow out of it soon and you can have cry-free haircutting sessions.
    Blessings… Faith

Our oldest son used to get that same hair cut when he was that age. I loved it!
I think you did a great job.

That was precious and he looks great! You did a wonderful job!

I cut all of my kids hair too. DS still battles me, but I found that if I let him hold a washcloth over his face it’s less ‘traumatic’ for him. I though it was the buzzing that freaked him out, but then he told me it was seeing/feeling his hair falling on his face.
(But then….you couldn’t take all of those cute photos) ;-)

    He is too cute!

I will SO try the washcloth idea. Unfortunately Jonah doesn’t talk so he can’t tell me what part bugs him. Thanks Michelle.

TOO cute! Maybe we should match another set? Lauryn pouts when I cut her hair, too. What am I saying? Lauryn pouts aout everything!!!!

He is so cute! My three year old constantly asks, “is it over?”, while I cut his hair. It usually ends in a break down. I guess it’s just too hard to sit through a hair cut at that age. ;)

Something doesn’t look quite right in those outdoor pics — oh, I know what it is — Donut’s wearing clothes. How odd looking!
And what is that they’re playing with, extension cords?? ;)

  12. katie said:

Jonah likes clothes now. Imagine that. And Jonah is carrying a piece of plastic twine they found in the flower bed while Lina and Jessica have Jessica’s jump rope. Both are orange and look suspiciously like something they are not. Although an extension cord would make a good long jump rope. :)

What is it with twine/rope/string? My two youngest boys are thrilled to bits if they happen to get hold of some. Drive me bananas, I never know what they are going to tie up!

My eight year old hates having his hair cut because of the “tickly hairs” he doesn’t cry though, I guess that’s because of his great maturity. Lol

Hey, Will you do my boy’s hair? I’ve tried to do that and I butchered it.

  15. Bobbie-Jo said:

He looks so grown up - a big boy all of a sudden. I just shave my boys’ hair. Much easier, and thankfully they love it. :)

    The girls, though…

Now see, I thought the same thing when I saw the ‘clothed boy’ pictures. It looked mighty odd :) He sure looks better in that style than my oldest ever did. Now they all just get a buzz :D

How cute! After being blessed with 5 girls the Lord gave us a boy who will be 1 in April so I have not had the “haircutting adventure” yet. I need to find a good “how to” book. :-)

He has his grandfather’s eyes for sure. Beautiful shade of blue. And so handsome he looks like both of you. Tell all your kiddo’s Love from Heather

Donut reminds me soooo much of Pudge! Right down to the blonde hair, and hating hair cuts.

I tried it with scissors and it was a bad job of it. But it’s not scraggly anymore.

OH WOW! Look at those Beautiful Blues!

Wes cuts my boys’ hair. I cry every time. LOL.

When I lived in town, I’d do hair cuts outside in the grass… less clean up. Well — I stopped that when the screamer came along. Now they’ve grown out of that and I’m back outside for the haircuts… unless it’s -10°, or something.
